History
Maa Kanaka Durga Temple is one of the most prominent Shakti Peethas in india, located on the sacred indrakeeladri hill. The Temple has great significance in hindu scriptures and is associated with the legend of Maa Kanaka Durga slaying the demon mahishasura. The Temple is especially famous for the annual Dasara festival, where devotees from across the country gather to witness different forms of Maa Durga.

The Temple is situated on the banks of the river krishna, atop the indrakeeladri hill in vijayawada, andhra pradesh.

- By air: the nearest airport is vijayawada international airport (gannavaram), around 20 km from the Temple.
- By rail: vijayawada junction, one of the busiest railway stations in south india, is only 2 km away from the Temple.
- By road: The Temple is well connected by roadways. City buses, taxis, and auto-rickshaws are available to reach the foothill, from where steps and a ghat road lead to Maa Kanaka Durga Temple.
