History

Maa Durga Temple, popularly known as The Monkey Temple, was built in the 18th century by a bengali queen. The Idol Of Maa Durga is believed to be Swayambhu (self-manifested), not installed by human hands. The Temple is an important center of Maa Durga worship, especially during Navratri, when thousands of devotees gather to seek Her Blessings.
