History
Maa Durga Bari Temple was built by the royal family of Tripura during the reign of Maharaja Krishna Kishore Manikya Bahadur in the 18th century. The temple was constructed as a central place of worship for the rulers and the people, dedicated exclusively to Maa Durga. Over time, it became a sacred landmark for devotees across the region. The temple is especially renowned for its grand Durga Puja celebrations, which were started under royal patronage and continue today as one of the most vibrant festivals in Tripura.
